CNN Arab Ink: Jordan, A Cultural Insight
CNN commissioned us to produce an insightful and powerful piece of social commentary on Jordan that provided viewers with a unique cultural insight into the country.
We were given an opportunity to combine our expert travel knowledge and understanding of cultural nuances to demonstrate the true spirit of the destination. Once a taboo form of art, there is a rising generation of Arabs in Jordan decorating themselves with tattoos. We wanted to uncover the reason for this emerging trend; a trend that we discovered is not a statement of fashion, but a means to tell their story. To find out more we met with Bashar Allaedin, a photographer who has been documenting these stories as told by body art.
Through Bashar’s words and imagery, we created a video that delves further into the local culture than any ordinary destination piece. Our fantastic production team were able to deliver an impressive video that told the story of body art, as seen through Bashar’s eyes.
