Experian: Incentive Travel Programme

Experian: Incentive Travel Programme

The Background

The briefing approach with this client is proof that first impressions really do count…A member of the Experian team had been hosted on a Black Tomato Agency FAM trip to Nepal back in Feb 2019 and were so blown away by the unique experiences and level of creativity, that they contracted us to deliver their next incentive program, complete with delegate management and a 5-star luxury ground itinerary.

The Objective

We were tasked with taking 30 to 40 of Experian UK & Ireland’s best sales performers and sales contributors (and their plus ones) to a far-flung destination that they were unlikely to have travelled to before. They also wanted us to deliver spectacular, ‘money can’t buy’ experiences to create memories to last a lifetime. A key aspect of the trip was also, of course, to inspire momentum amongst delegates and drive performance so that they could qualify for the next trip in 2024.

The Insight

Working directly with the client, we spent ample time holding site inspections and getting the key decision maker’s likes and dislikes. It was clear that she wanted to strike a balance between off-the-beaten-track experiences, cultural immersions, adrenaline-inducing adventures, and free time to relax. Our approach to planning and delivering the project was always to maintain the right level of emotional, physical, and insightful experiences, without exhausting the guests so that it impacted their experience. Little touches to increase comfort, as well as a few surprises along the way, made a huge difference, such as changing from larger transfers to smaller, more comfortable vehicles. Complimentary massages during their free time went down a treat too!

The Advice

We whisked 62 guests in total away for a five-night trip to Nepal, starting with two nights in Kathmandu. Soaking up the city buzz in style, guests toured Kathmandu on Royal Enfield motorbikes, visiting temples, markets, and squares, before catching an early morning Everest mountain flight to enjoy a private breakfast hosted by the youngest-ever summiteer. The second half of the trip took a slower pace, with three nights at Dwarika’s Dhulikhel wellness resort for some R&R. From practicing yoga and rafting the Sunkoshi River to taking part in cooking and pottery classes, delegates enjoyed the privacy ad exclusivity of having the entire resort to themselves.

The Lasting Impression

The group were overjoyed with the trip and immensely grateful to have experienced such an inspiring, beautiful destination that they wouldn’t have considered travelling to. There were also some fears conquered, as a few people that were terrified to do rafting or ride on the back of Royal Enfield motorcycles. With their team’s support and encouragement, everyone managed to take part and most importantly, create memories of a lifetime.

What The Client Said
